Author Guidelines

International Journal of Sustainable Development Goals Research and Development (ISCSITR–IJSDGRD)

The International Journal of Sustainable Development Goals Research and Development (ISCSITR–IJSDGRD) welcomes original, high-quality research contributions from scholars, practitioners, and policymakers addressing issues related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The journal emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches that integrate environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainability, aiming to foster scholarly dialogue and innovative solutions for sustainable global progress.


1. Types of Manuscripts

Original Research Articles

Comprehensive and original studies presenting new findings, frameworks, or methodologies that contribute significantly to one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals. Research may encompass policy analysis, sustainability assessment, innovative technologies, and community-based practices promoting sustainability.

Review Articles

Analytical and critical overviews of current trends, debates, and advancements related to the SDGs. Reviews should synthesize existing literature, identify research gaps, and propose directions for future inquiry within sustainable development research.

Short Communications

Concise reports of preliminary findings or innovative ideas with high potential impact on sustainability research or practice.


2. Manuscript Preparation

2.1 General Format

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, fluent, and grammatically correct English.

  • Document Format: Submissions should be in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or LaTeX (.tex) format.

  • Length:

    • Original Research/Review Articles: 6,000–10,000 words (including references and appendices)

    • Short Communications: up to 3,000 words

  • Font: 12-point Times New Roman or an equivalent serif font.

  • Spacing: Double-spaced throughout (including abstract, references, and tables).

  • Margins: 1-inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.


2.2 Structure of the Manuscript

Each submission must include the following sections in the order listed below:

Title Page

  • Title: Concise and descriptive (maximum 15 words, no abbreviations).

  • Author Information: Full names, institutional affiliations, and email addresses of all authors. Clearly indicate the corresponding author.

Abstract (≤250 words)
Provide a brief overview of the purpose, methodology, major findings, and significance of the study.

Keywords (4–6)
Include specific terms that capture the core focus areas of the manuscript.

Introduction
Introduce the background, relevance to SDGs, literature context, and specific objectives of the research.

Methodology
Describe the research design, data collection, and analytical methods in sufficient detail to enable replication.

Results
Present clear and well-structured findings using figures, tables, and charts where appropriate.

Discussion
Interpret results critically, highlight implications for SDG implementation, compare findings with existing literature, and note any limitations.

Conclusion
Summarize the main outcomes, policy implications, and contributions to sustainable development theory or practice.

Acknowledgments
Recognize funding bodies, institutional support, or contributors not listed as co-authors.

References
Follow APA 7th Edition citation style. All sources cited in the text must appear in the reference list.

Example:

  • Journal Article: Smith, J. & Lee, K. (2023). Renewable energy adoption in low-income nations. Journal of Sustainable Energy, 12(4), 233–248.

  • Book: Brown, R. (2022). Climate Policy and Governance. Springer Nature.

Figures and Tables

  • Submit figures in high-resolution formats (JPEG or PNG).

  • Number figures and tables sequentially (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1).

  • Tables should be editable and included at the end of the manuscript or within the text.


3. Submission Process

  • Email Submission: All manuscripts should be submitted via email to iscsitr@gmail.com.

  • Cover Letter: Include a brief cover letter highlighting the study’s originality, relevance to SDGs, and confirmation that the manuscript has not been submitted elsewhere.

  • Plagiarism Check: All papers will undergo plagiarism screening. Manuscripts with significant overlap or high similarity indices will be rejected.

  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts that could influence their work.

  • Ethical Compliance: For research involving human or animal subjects, include a statement confirming adherence to ethical standards and relevant institutional guidelines.


4. Review Process

ISCSITR–IJSDGRD employs a double-blind peer-review system. Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent experts. The typical review duration is 1–2 weeks. Authors will be notified of one of the following decisions: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.


5. Revisions

Authors receiving revision requests must resubmit their revised manuscript within 30 days. A detailed response-to-reviewers document should be included, addressing each reviewer comment.


6. Publication Charges

ISCSITR–IJSDGRD is an open-access journal. To sustain publication and indexing operations, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applicable upon acceptance. For updated APC details, visit:

7. Copyright and Licensing

Upon acceptance, authors will transfer copyright to ISCSITR–IJSDGRD.
The journal operates under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing redistribution, adaptation, and reuse with appropriate citation and credit.


8. Post-Acceptance Process

Accepted articles undergo copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading before publication. Authors will receive final proofs for approval, which must be returned within 24 hours of receipt.
