Author Guidelines
International Journal of Legal Studies (ISCSITR-IJLS) welcomes original and high-quality manuscripts that contribute meaningfully to the advancement of legal scholarship, theory, policy, and interdisciplinary applications of law. Authors are expected to comply with the following submission guidelines to ensure consistency, quality, and integrity in the publication process.
1. Types of Manuscripts
ISCSITR-IJLS accepts the following types of contributions:
- Original Research Articles: In-depth, scholarly works offering novel insights into legal theory, practice, case law analysis, or legislative studies.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews synthesizing recent developments in a specific area of law and highlighting future directions for research and reform.
2. Manuscript Preparation
2.1. General Format
- Language: Submissions must be in clear and grammatically correct English (UK or US, but consistent throughout).
- Format: Acceptable file types include Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or LaTeX (.tex).
- Length:
- Original and review articles: 6,000–10,000 words
- Case notes or short communications: up to 3,000 words
- Font: Times New Roman, 12-point
- Spacing: Double-spaced throughout (including footnotes and references)
- Margins: 1-inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
2.2. Structure of the Manuscript
Each manuscript should contain the following components in the order listed:
- Title Page:
- Title: Concise and descriptive (max 15 words; avoid abbreviations)
- Author(s): Full names, affiliations, and email addresses
- Corresponding Author: Clearly marked with contact details
- Abstract (max 250 words): Summarize the research’s purpose, scope, methodology, key findings, and relevance to the field of law.
- Keywords: 4–6 relevant terms that capture the essence of the paper.
- Introduction: Provide a contextual overview, highlight the research gap, and define the objectives and significance of the study.
- Literature Review / Background: Discuss prior scholarship, legal doctrines, and case law that underpin the research.
- Methodology / Legal Analysis: Describe the analytical or doctrinal approach taken. For empirical work, include sampling, data sources, and analytical frameworks.
- Findings / Discussion:Present key arguments, interpret legal principles, and offer critical commentary supported by case law or statutory interpretation.
- Conclusion: Summarize major findings, implications, and possible legal reforms or future areas of inquiry.
- Acknowledgments (if applicable): Credit funding sources, institutional support, or individuals who assisted but do not meet authorship criteria.
- References: Use APA format for consistency. All references must be cited in the text. Examples:
- Journal Article: Smith, J. (2020). Freedom of speech and modern democracies. Law Review, 12(3), 123–140.
- Book: Doe, J. (2018). International Human Rights Law. Oxford University Press.
- Footnotes: Allowed for legal citations (use standard Bluebook or OSCOLA citation style if preferred in the footnotes).
- Figures and Tables:
- Numbered sequentially (e.g., Figure 1, Table 2)
- High resolution (JPEG or PNG)
- Editable tables should be embedded or attached separately
3.Submission Process

- Cover Letter: Must accompany each submission, highlighting originality, relevance, and a declaration that the manuscript is not under review elsewhere.
- Plagiarism Check: All papers undergo plagiarism screening. High similarity scores will lead to rejection.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal interests that may influence the research or interpretation.
- Ethical Compliance: Any study involving human subjects must comply with ethical research standards and include appropriate disclosure.
4. Review Process
ISCSITR-IJLS employs a double-blind peer-review process. Every manuscript is reviewed by at least two experts. Decisions (accept, revise, reject) are usually communicated within 1–2 weeks of submission.
5. Revisions
Authors receiving revision requests must resubmit the revised version within 30 days, along with a response letter outlining changes made and how reviewer comments were addressed.
6. Publication Charges
As an open-access journal, ISCSITR-IJLS ensures all published articles are freely available online. To support this model, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is payable upon acceptance. Visit:

7. Copyright and Licensing
Upon acceptance, authors must sign a copyright transfer agreement. ISCSITR-IJLS publishes under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing for sharing and adaptation with appropriate credit.
8. Post-Acceptance
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, typesetting, and proofing before final publication. Authors will receive page proofs for review and must return corrections within 24 hours.
