Abstract

Targeted drug delivery systems (TDDS) represent a significant leap in precision medicine, aiming to maximize therapeutic efficacy while minimizing side effects. Nanotechnology, fused with advances in biological sciences, offers innovative tools to engineer nanoparticles capable of navigating complex biological environments. The integration of biologically inspired systems—such as ligand-receptor targeting, stimuli-responsive nanocarriers, and biomimetic delivery vectors—has enabled breakthroughs in site-specific delivery, particularly in oncology, neurology, and infectious diseases. The principles and mechanisms underpinning biological-nanotechnological integration for TDDS.
