Abstract

The convergence of blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT) introduces a transformative approach to mitigating trust, security, and interoperability challenges in decentralized networks. This paper presents a lightweight, scalable, and secure architecture leveraging blockchain-based distributed ledgers to support autonomous edge intelligence. We analyze various blockchain platforms for their suitability in IoT scenarios and discuss a model that integrates distributed consensus and smart contract-driven access control. Performance metrics such as latency and scalability are evaluated to assess the viability of the proposed architecture. The findings confirm that blockchain significantly enhances the trustworthiness and interoperability of edge-intelligent IoT systems.
