Abstract

The increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters in the 21st century necessitate urgent innovation in disaster-resilient architectural practices. This paper investigates the integration of simulation modeling with performance-based structural frameworks to enhance disaster preparedness in architectural design. Simulation technologies allow architects and engineers to virtually test structures under diverse disaster scenarios, while performance-based frameworks provide measurable thresholds for safety and functionality. The convergence of digital twin environments, AI-driven risk assessments, and climate-informed design standards provides a new frontier for resilient architecture. This paper critically reviews literature, evaluates methodological innovations, and proposes a roadmap for advancing resilient built environments.
